We all get Frustrated from time to time with our Dogs. But how does this frustration affect our relationship with our dogs. Let's dive deeper into this issue.

When we are working with our dogs, I want you to keep in the back of your mind that we are working on bridging the gap between dog to human communication. Therefore, furthering and nurturing the bond between you and your furry companion. Let's talk about the steps we can take toward facilitating a better relationship with our dogs.

  • Our patience levels with our dogs

First let's talk about our patience level when we are working with our dogs. Before we even start working with our dogs you must be in a certain state of mind and be disciplined enough to keep it throughout your session. We must be in a positive calm state. If we realize we ourselves are going over our personal comfort levels and getting frustrated, then we need to step away from the session and cool down. When we are in this state, we make mistakes that affect our relationship with our dogs.

  • Using our commands correctly

We must make sure we are using our commands correctly. You should always say their name first and then you should say the command only once. When we don't use their names first it becomes really to retrieve their attention. Its especially difficult for a puppy because they have such a short attention span.

  • Using your training journal effectively

Writing down exactly what you and your dog are doing. Write down what is frustrating you. It's best to be as detailed as possible in this step because it can give you better insight to what you are wanting to accomplish.

  • Dissect your problem

You can dissect your problem by filming your training sessions and looking at your training curriculum to come up with your next steps towards success in your training program.

If you follow these steps, you will be well on your way to fostering a better relationship with your dog. I hope this helps you get a little further within you and your dog's training journey.
